I am a Professor of Political Science and Director of the Dr. Robert E. Witt University Fellows Program in the Honors College at The University of Alabama. My research interests lie in the areas of health policy and politics, gender politics, and leadership.

I am currently writing a book about women’s leadership in the global context, primarily focused on the impact of women’s leadership and teaching workshops I co-created and led in Pakistan and the US as part of a multi-year USAID-funded grant.

My current teaching interests include courses on poverty, asset-based community development, social impact projects, and experiential learning. In Fall 2026, I will offer a new course focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals viewed through a health in all policies lens.
